Going to trial is stressful. If you find yourself in a dispute that you feel can be settled out of court, DSF’s Mediation Services may be the answer.
Designed to be more cost-effective and more efficient than the court process, mediation is often an ideal way to navigate and resolve legal matters without entering a courtroom or spending funds on a trial. With mediation, you also gain more control over the situation. You and the other party can arrive at a mutually agreed upon outcome, meaning the result is certain and you avoid the risk of a poor outcome imposed by a third party decision maker. There is no strict “winner” or “loser.”

Amy was called to the bar in 2018.
Prior to joining DSF, Amy gained extensive experience in separation and divorce law as an associate lawyer at a law firm in Bruce County, Ontario. Elisabeth Colson of DSF’s Corporate Commercial Department discusses cold calls and the topic of “Are Cold Calls Always Worth the Effort” in an article published in the Geneva Group International (“GGI”) Business Development & Marketing newsletter for Autumn 2019.
Scott Pratt, who articled at Devry Smith Frank LLP in 1997/1998, has been appointed a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice. Scott will be sitting in Windsor Ontario, following an 18 year tenure as a Crown Attorney. In that time, he has worked in eight jurisdictions prosecuting all types of offences in the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice.
Justice Pratt was a founding member of the Justice Community Coalition on Collaboration and participated in several other advisory committees, including the Justice Education Network. Justice Pratt has also volunteered extensively with the University of Windsor Faculty of Law.
I worked with Elisabeth Colson to set up a fairly complex partnership structure for my business and she did an excellent job for me. She is patient and took the time to understand my business requirement, provided invaluable legal advises along the way, suggested precise legal language to describe the business intention and considered the interest of all stakeholders in the partnership. Overall I’m thrilled with the work she did and would highly recommend her service.
I want to express my appreciation for the expertise of Ms. Lynne Frank concerning the mediation she conducted for me on March 18, 2016. Ms. Frank’s professional knowledge and gentle method were outstanding. I have been associated with many people in the legal field during my career and found Ms. Frank to rank among the top as a negotiator and conciliator.
If I could offer one piece of advice for those contemplating separation… See John Schuman and Todd Slonim first!. If I would have used their services from the beginning of my separation the outcome would have been very different. I was self represented until the final stages of my court experience, what John, Todd, and the rest of the team did to finalize my long, stressful, upsetting separation was nothing short of miraculous. They are the best in the business.
The executive team at Diproinduca Canada Limited is very pleased with the outstanding services we got from the immigration team at DSF. In particular, Asher Frankel did a wonderful job in securing a work permit for a key executive in our company. He is extremely knowledgeable and was always ready to answer any question we had during the process. We gladly recommend his professional services to others.
My experience with Marty Rabinovitch was wonderful. I was very pleased with the service I received from him. He is very knowledgeable about employment law and took his time to explain the circumstances of my case. I found him to be honest, trustworthy , detailed, attentive, very thorough and hardworking with good and quick results. I would recommend him anytime.
