Amar is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, obtaining his Juris Doctor (J.D). Amar transferred to Osgoode Hall in 2019 after completing his first year of the Dual Canadian and American JD at the University of Windsor and Detroit Mercy School of Law. Amar finished his first year of law with honours, ranking in the top 25% of the class. Amar also holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Accounting from York University.
Prior to law school, Amar also worked in both the public and private sectors, gaining experience in banking, finance, and procurement. Upon graduating, Amar worked for a local municipality as an associate in their finance department. Amar then went on to work as a sourcing analyst at a large financial institution.
Last summer, as a Summer Law Student at Devry Smith Frank LLP, Amar gained experience in various practice areas, including Employment Law and Commercial Litigation. As an Articling Student, Amar is now looking forward to working with a number of different lawyers and practice areas to continue to expand his interests to establish a well-rounded understanding of the legal sector. He also hopes to gain additional experience in Labour and Employment Law, Commercial Litigation, Business & Financial Services, Contractual Disputes, Wills & Estate Planning, Tax, and Regulatory Health & Safety.
Amar is an avid basketball fan, is very active, and speaks English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
