Unwana Udo is a litigation lawyer with Devry Smith Frank LLP, with a practice that includes a strong focus on appellate advocacy, where he represents clients in civil and commercial disputes.
Unwana’s appellate work involves reviewing trial decisions and advancing clear, structured arguments before appellate courts. He represents corporations and individuals across a broad range of commercial disputes, including service agreements, shareholder and partnership issues, post-transaction M&A disputes, corporate governance, real estate, employment, construction, debt and asset recovery, enforcement of security, as well as insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings. His experience managing complex, multi-party litigation informs his appellate perspective, particularly in identifying key issues and developing effective arguments on review.
Unwana advises clients on dispute resolution strategies and risk management in the context of ongoing or potential litigation. He approaches each matter with thorough preparation, strategic analysis, and a focus on achieving efficient results.
He earned his LL.B. from the University of Nigeria and his LL.M. from Dalhousie University and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2022.
