Yashika Shroff

About

Yashika Shroff is a recent graduate from Queen’s University Faculty of Law, and she is thrilled to return to Devry Smith Frank LLP as an Articling Student.

Prior to attending Queen’s Law, Yashika received her Honours Bachelor of Science as a Forensic Psychology Specialist from the University of Toronto, where she graduated with High Distinction.

During her time there, Yashika held various Research Assistant positions, one of which led to her first research publication, The Use of Psychopathy Assessments in Canadian Case Law: A Quantitative and Qualitative Survey of Court Records From 1980 to 2023, in the Journal of Psychology, Public Policy, and Law.

At Queen’s Law, Yashika was an active member of the community. During 2L, Yashika served as the Social Media Coordinator for the Queen’s Chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC), VP of Marketing for Queen’s Law Wills & Estates, a Peer Mentor for the First-Generation Network, and a Student Volunteer at PBSC’s ID Clinic.

Yashika also gained hands-on legal experience as a Student Caseworker at Queen’s Legal Aid, where she assisted and represented Kingston residents in a range of matters. For her outstanding file work and collaborative contributions, Yashika was awarded the Dan Soberman Award, which recognizes exceptional student caseworkers. During 3L, Yashika spent the Fall semester as an exchange student at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. She also worked as a Research Assistant for the Queen’s University International Symposium Series on  Reflective Practice for Legal Professionals.

Beyond her academic and legal interests, Yashika enjoys true-crime documentaries and horror films, discovering new music and attending concerts, and picking up new hobbies – most recently crocheting and training for a 5k run.
