Marc is a lawyer with extensive experience in municipal, planning and development and environmental law. He joined the firm in February 2015. Marc obtained his B.A. (Hons.), from McGill University and his LL.B. from Queen’s University. He also has an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics. Marc was called to the Ontario Bar in 1995.

Marc’s practice encompasses all aspects of land development and planning and municipal compliance. He represents developers, landowners, institutions, municipalities and individuals regarding large residential, condominium, commercial, retail, subdivision and aggregate developments. He also has considerable experience with respect to P3 projects, procurement, expropriation, heritage and development charges matters.

Marc regularly attends before municipal councils, committees of adjustment, and the Ontario Municipal Board to obtain approvals for an official plan and zoning by-law amendments, subdivision and site plans and minor variances/consents. He represents clients before the courts, the Environmental Review Tribunal and other administrative Tribunals. His prior work in planning and development has been recognized by Novae Res Urbis as belonging to one of the top 15 planning and development law firms in the Greater Toronto Area.

Marc writes and speaks frequently about municipal, planning and environmental law. Marc is a frequent contributor to publications such as Ontario Real Estate Law Developments and a regular speaker at conferences offered by The Ontario Bar Association, Federated Press and The Canadian Environmental Conference. He has taught courses in Municipal and Planning Law at Conestoga College and a course in Development Law at Ryerson University.

Marc is a member of: Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Bar Association, IMLA (International Municipal Lawyers Association), ONEIA (Ontario Environment Industry Association) and AWMA (Air and Waste Management Association). He sits on the Executive of The Ontario Bar Association Municipal and Environmental Law Sections.

In his spare time, Marc enjoys swimming, skiing and other outdoor activities and he is a proud father of four children. He sits on the board of South Drive Children Circle.
