Lorne Shapiro formed the Condominium Law Group at Devry Smith Frank LLP in 2016 and is currently a partner with the firm. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1974 with a B.A. in Political Studies and obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1977. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1979.
Lorne’s practice spans all stages of a condominium development. He regularly works with clients in land acquisition, financing, site development, creation of condominium documents, dealing with Tarion, condominium project planning, and advising condominium corporations on corporate governance matters, litigation, and dispute resolution.
Lorne provides sound and experienced advice with respect to the acquisition, financing, disposition, and leasing of commercial and investment properties. He strives to learn about his clients’ businesses, enabling him to take big-picture client issues into consideration. He provides prompt, practical, and creative advice to obtain the most effective solutions available. His network of contacts throughout the GTA helps him stay current with market developments and apply real-world knowledge to assist his clients. Lorne enjoys structuring business deals and working with clients to add value and optimize opportunities.
Lorne is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and a former member of the executive of the Real Estate Section of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario).
